Proxima III is the homeworld of the Hasik species and a Terran Federation colony world.
History[]
Proxima III was colonized by the Terran Federation during the first period of expansion following the colonizations of Vesta and Tellus.
However, the Hasik attacked the colonists three months after colonization. This ignited the Hasik War, in which several violent Hasik tribes battled the Terran Federation colonists. After six months, a peaceful tribe leader named Lyonie negotiated peace with the colonists.
These actions as well as events on Orion IV, Deneb IV and Vega IX resulted in the passing of the Harkin Colonization Act, which outlawed settlement on worlds with sentient life.
